Please read the discussion of power. We will go over it briefly in class. Most will probably remember it from last year.

In particular, the Enlightenment addressed the concept of political power: where it originates, who should exercise it, and how it is best used for the betterment of humankind. Not all Enlightenment philosophers were agreed, by any means, on these points.
